New Boundary Technologies’ Prism Deploy Brings Automation and Efficiency to Sigmaringen District’s Expanded Responsibilities

Landratsamt Sigmaringen is the district government in southern Germany serving 25 townships and about 20,000 residents. After a 2005 administrative reform the IT department inherited many new departments and had to manage 600 PCs and 200+ applications across ten sites; their previous proprietary/sneaker-net installation process was no longer scalable or flexible enough.

Working with consultant OPTIMAL, Sigmaringen deployed New Boundary Technologies’ Prism Deploy to centralize, automate and schedule software rollouts. Using SmartUpdate targeting, AD/IP-based grouping, support for legacy scripts via Command Tasks, the Package Editor and out-of-hours/Wake-on-LAN scheduling, the district now performs fast, precise deployments with minimal user disruption, easier management and reliable vendor support.
