Moreland City Council - Customer Case Study

Moreland City Council, a local government in Melbourne serving about 140,000 residents and supporting 1,200 users across more than a dozen locations, needed a simple, affordable way to manage a diverse set of software across its network. Their existing solution, ZENworks, proved overly complex and required more staff and overhead than the council could sustain.

They replaced ZENworks with New Boundary Technologies’ Prism Deploy, which installed quickly and was easy for staff to learn (a junior technician created a package in 30 minutes). Prism’s client polling, staggered group deployments and Active Update dynamic grouping let IT push updates in the background with minimal user impact, reduced network congestion, and targeted only the machines that needed updates—eliminating the need for a separate inventory tool and improving deployment efficiency.
