A Neurotechnology Case Study
The National Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone, the public institution responsible for organizing the nation's elections, required a solution to ensure a fair and accurate voter registry by eliminating duplicate registrations for the 2012 general elections. They contracted the solution provider Zetes, who utilized Neurotechnology's MegaMatcher Accelerator multi-biometric hardware and software as the core identification engine for this critical de-duplication service.
The solution, based on Neurotechnology's MegaMatcher technology, processed 2.7 million voter records in under six weeks. It used powerful fingerprint and facial recognition matching to de-duplicate the database and facilitate the creation of accurate voter ID cards and voter rolls. This implementation by Neurotechnology and Zetes was pivotal to the success of the electoral process, which saw an 80% voter turnout and was hailed as a success by international observers for its credibility.
