A Neurotechnology Case Study
The Interim Independent Electoral Commission of Kenya (IIEC) faced the challenge of creating an entirely new and accurate voter registry for the country's 13 million voters to ensure fair elections, requiring a system that could prevent duplicate registrations and operate reliably in both urban and remote rural areas. They worked with system integrator CODE Inc., who selected Neurotechnology's MegaMatcher multi-biometric SDK to develop the solution.
The solution used Neurotechnology's MegaMatcher fingerprint and facial algorithms for enrollment and verification in the field, and its powerful engine for de-duplication. This resulted in the successful registration of 1.5 million voters in a pilot program, which was used in a 2010 referendum that was widely hailed as efficient and credible. The use of Neurotechnology's products helped create an accurate voter registry, reinforced confidence in the election process, and laid the groundwork for the system to be rolled out to all 13 million voters.
