A Neurotechnology Case Study

Preview of the Polish Security Printing Works Case Study

Polish Biometric Passport System Fingerprint Module Based on VeriFinger Technology Implemented by Polish Security Printing Works

Polish Security Printing Works, the system integrator for the Republic of Poland, was tasked with implementing a national biometric passport system to comply with a European Union regulation requiring fingerprint data in all new passports. They faced the challenge of finding a highly reliable and fast fingerprint verification engine that could be deployed across approximately 130 offices. They selected the VeriFinger SDK from Neurotechnology for its performance and multi-platform capabilities.

The solution implemented by Neurotechnology provided the core fingerprint evaluation and matching technology. VeriFinger was integrated into the entire passport issuance process, from capturing and scoring fingerprint image quality to performing the final 1:1 verification before issuing the document. The results were a successful nationwide implementation that met the EU deadline, processing approximately one million passports annually with a fast, accurate, and reliable system.
