Preview of the General Security El Salvador Case Study

El Salvador’s National Passport System Implemented by General Security, Based on MegaMatcher 2.0 Technology

General Security El Salvador was engaged by the government of El Salvador to build the country's first nationwide multi-biometric system for passports and immigration. The challenge was to replace limited, single-biometric systems with a sophisticated national-level solution to improve security, manage a growing population, and facilitate international travel and trade. To meet this need, General Security selected Neurotechnology's MegaMatcher 2.0 SDK to provide the core biometric functionality.

Neurotechnology's MegaMatcher 2.0 provided the powerful multi-biometric engine for the new system, enabling fast and accurate fingerprint and facial recognition. The solution, named GS AFIS, was successfully implemented to process passport applications and within the criminal justice system, enrolling thousands of citizens weekly. This resulted in a more secure, reliable national database that helps prevent identity fraud, enhances public safety, and allows El Salvador to participate more effectively in the global economy.
