A Neurotechnology Case Study
The Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange (IDDEEA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina faced the challenge of creating a biometric passport and ID system to meet strict European Union security standards and correct inaccurate citizen records, all within a short timeline mandated by the Visa Liberalisation Roadmap. To build this system, IDDEEA chose to develop it in-house using the MegaMatcher Extended SDK from the vendor Neurotechnology.
The solution utilized Neurotechnology's MegaMatcher Client for real-time quality assurance during citizen enrollment and the MegaMatcher Cluster Server to power a central biometric identification system for checking duplicate fingerprints. This system, launched in October 2009, enabled the accurate identification of citizens across 341 locations, ensured compliance with EU requirements, and provided a powerful, cost-effective solution using distributed computing on standard hardware.
