KTM monitors 900 nodes across 15+ years with NetXMS

KTM Fahrrad, an Austrian bicycle manufacturer, needed a scalable and intelligent network monitoring solution to manage its expansive IT infrastructure of approximately 900 nodes across production, offices, and logistics. Their challenges included handling complex and growing infrastructure, inconsistent node naming, and a need for robust visualization and custom alerting for events like Active Directory logins. They chose the NetXMS platform for its flexibility and feature set.

NetXMS provided a centralized monitoring platform that integrated all device types. The solution used Layer 2 topology maps for visibility, scripting to automate node naming and inventory, and custom event policies to parse Windows Event Logs for critical alarms. The results gave KTM's IT team full network visibility with minimal manual intervention, improved response times to outages, and reduced downtime. NetXMS proved to be an indispensable tool, helping to quickly pinpoint issues like air conditioning failures and network bottlenecks.
