A NetX Case Study
The University of Richmond, where visual storytelling is central to marketing and web strategy, faced a chaotic asset workflow: over 58,000 images scattered in photographer/year folders, model releases kept in binders, duplicated collections across departments, and manual, time-consuming image requests that concentrated institutional knowledge in just a few staff members—creating search, rights-management and operational risks.
University Communications implemented the NetX digital asset management system with an intuitive interface, custom taxonomy, embedded rights management, and auto-tasks to make multi-location images searchable without duplication. The DAM gave campus partners self-service access, stopped manual fulfillments, required no formal training for rapid adoption, and freed staff time—positioning the university to hire a full-time photographer and launch a national branding campaign with a scalable, manageable asset library.
