A NetX Case Study
Travel Alberta, the provincial government agency that promotes tourism in Alberta, faced a growing Digital Asset Management challenge: making high-quality, rights-cleared photos and videos easy to find and use while protecting brand integrity. Their needs centered on automated media transcoding and derivatives, intuitive web-based findability through a usable taxonomy, and granular user- and group-level access controls to manage requests, approvals, usage tracking and repurposing.
They implemented a NetXposure DAM that automates transcoding and links derivative files to parent assets, enables fast batch tagging and keyframe thumbnails for quick browsing, and enforces an access-request/approval workflow with trimming and formatting tools. Adoption and media distribution increased, usage reports provided audience insight, and journalists and TV producers could quickly download broadcast-ready assets — examples include a cover-story photo and placements on Live! with Kelly and Jimmy Kimmel Live (36 million viewers, $90M in earned media) — making Travel Alberta the central, secure hub for its visual brand.
