A NetX Case Study
The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) needed a more capable way to manage and share its growing digital collection—more than 150,000 objects plus tens of thousands of media files—because its legacy TMS collections system and scattered archives could not meet requirements for secure web access, easy non‑technical use, repurposing of files, multi‑platform support, scalability, and seamless integration with other systems.
MoMA implemented NetXposure’s enterprise DAM and used its Web Services API to link the DAM and Gallery Systems’ TMS through a common identifier, using either “tag & match” naming or automated “place & fill” placeholders. The automated integration synchronized metadata and media between systems, improving workflows, increasing productivity, reducing time and cost, and extending the value of MoMA’s legacy collections management system.
