A NetX Case Study
Catalina Marketing, a leader in targeted in‑store couponing with purchase histories for more than 75% of U.S. shoppers and an in‑store network across 55,000 locations, moved from black‑and‑white to color coupons to boost response rates. That shift drove significantly higher client demand but also introduced a far more complex production workflow: designers had to manage color‑specific ink calculations, printer‑model variations, larger optimized files, and multiple back‑end applications, creating bottlenecks as volume and variation grew.
NetXposure built a custom Graphics Panel — an Adobe Creative Suite extension tied to a NetX DAM — to centralize the workflow and integrate services (Workamajig, InDesign Server, ink‑calculation and printer services, Claro, etc.). Designers now work entirely inside InDesign to check assets in/out, automate template placement, run ink and printer checks, and submit optimized files. The automation eliminated tool switching and manual tasks, saving more than five minutes per coupon and the equivalent of roughly seven full‑time designers annually, while enabling the higher response rates driven by color.
