Case Study: Washington County achieves PII protection and top information-security rankings with Netwrix Auditor

A Netwrix Case Study

Preview of the Washington County Case Study

Washington County Protects PII and Receives Highest Rankings for Information Security

Washington County, Arkansas, a government agency serving 1,700 users across 34 departments, faced the challenge of protecting large volumes of sensitive data—including vendor contracts and personally identifiable information—while maintaining continuous compliance with state regulations such as HIPAA. The Information Systems department needed to ensure data integrity and avoid costly fines, and also had to support an average of about 3,000 helpdesk calls per year.

The county deployed Netwrix Auditor for Active Directory, Windows Server and file servers because it was easy to use, cost-effective and could be implemented without consultants. Netwrix Auditor’s reports and Interactive Search let IT quickly identify who made changes, when and where, which improved troubleshooting, validated security policies (including monitoring privileged activity and permissions changes), reduced insider risk and streamlined audits—helping the county achieve stronger operational stability and top state recognition for information security.
