Case Study: The Georgia Lottery Corporation achieves continuous PII protection and privileged-user monitoring with Netwrix Auditor

A Netwrix Case Study

Preview of the The Georgia Lottery Corporation Case Study

The Georgia Lottery Protects Sensitive Data

The Georgia Lottery, which has returned more than $17 billion to education and operates statewide through eight district offices and over 8,700 retailers, needed to protect players’ PII and confidential retailer data. With about 350 user accounts — including employees, contractors and privileged administrators — the Information Security team required continuous monitoring and real‑time alerts for critical changes across Active Directory, SQL Server, SharePoint and Exchange.

After evaluating options, the Lottery deployed Netwrix Auditor for AD, SQL Server, SharePoint and Exchange to track privileged activity, generate detailed reports and run fast, Google‑like investigations of suspicious changes. The solution enforces least‑privilege practices, provides continuous oversight of IT changes and user behavior, and helped validate security policies, minimize insider risk and meet federal PII‑protection guidelines.
