Government Ministry Gains Complete Visibility of Outsourced Vendor Accounts with Netwrix Auditor

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia, which oversees higher education, research, technology and the information society, faced a complex, multi-level IT environment partly administered by several outsourced vendors with accounts in the Ministry’s Active Directory. With systems spanning AD, GPOs, VMware and servers, the IT team lacked oversight of who changed what, where and when, leading to frequent audit issues and a need to automate tracking for compliance and to simplify internal processes.

After evaluating and deploying Netwrix Auditor for change and state-in-time auditing, the Ministry gained full visibility into outsourced vendor activity across Active Directory, Group Policy and VMware and used bundled tools like Active Directory Object Recovery and a rollback wizard to restore deleted or incorrect changes.
