McDonald’s franchise owner Williams needed a better way to promote McCafé drinks in-store. Traditional paper ad boards were labor intensive to change, blocked daylight, and were ineffective at night, limiting the impact of local advertising campaigns.

After installation, medium McCafé sales rose from about 30–45 drinks per day to 130–140, a gain of roughly 360%, while monthly profits increased by about 240%; when purchased outright, the display paid for itself in about 44 days.
