A Netstock Case Study
Tuffy, a Cape Town–based plastic manufacturer and exporter that supplies major South African retailers, struggled with excess inventory because it relied on Sage 300 data exported to Excel for rudimentary inventory and production planning. To address this after its acquisition by Bounty Brands, Tuffy implemented Netstock (integrated with their Sage 300 ERP) to gain better visibility and control over stock while preserving customer service levels.
Netstock enabled item-level profiles with individualized safety stocks and forecasts and supported an S&OP workflow where sales-adjusted forecasts feed recommended orders for manufacturing and suppliers. As a result of Netstock, Tuffy reduced inventory value by R30 million in 12 months, maintained service levels, and cut monthly production planning time from about two days to 2–3 hours with far greater forecast accuracy.
