Case Study: Sainsbury’s achieves end-to-end cloud visibility and data protection with Netskope

A Netskope Case Study

Preview of the Sainsbury's Case Study

Sainsbury tackles risk of data loss, exposure to threats, and lack of consistent policy enforcement

Sainsbury’s is one of the UK’s largest and longest‑standing retailers, with a 2,000‑strong tech organisation supporting grocery, Argos, Tu, Nectar and Sainsbury’s Bank. The Tech Security team led by CISO Mun Valiji needed better, organisation‑wide visibility and consistent controls across a complex, cloud‑first estate to manage shadow IT, protect sensitive customer and colleague data, meet regulatory requirements (including GDPR) and reduce exposure to cloud threats.

Sainsbury’s re‑implemented Netskope—covering Office 365 protection, Netskope SaaS with Cloud DLP and advanced threat detection—starting with a OneDrive PoC and a focused six‑week rollout. The platform delivered end‑to‑end line‑of‑sight across sanctioned and unsanctioned apps, richer telemetry for policy tuning, faster detection/remediation and measurable reductions in incidents and escalations, while enabling consistent policy enforcement and stronger data governance.
