CSA Group, a Canadian not‑for‑profit standards development and testing organization serving some 35,000 clients, set out on a digital transformation to make standards and services more accessible via cloud and mobile. That shift exposed major security and compliance challenges: their IT team discovered about 1,800 cloud apps in use (under 5% sanctioned), widespread shadow IT, and risks of sensitive PCI/PII data being uploaded or shared outside the corporate domain while needing to meet regulations like GDPR.
