Case Study: Orange Unified School District achieves proactive, enterprise-scale network monitoring with Netreo

A Netreo Case Study

Preview of the Orange Unified School District Case Study

California’s Orange County and City of Orange Schools Give High Grades to Netreo

Orange Unified School District (OUSD), a public school district in Orange County, California, needed a way to monitor and support a large, highly complex network used by more than 30,000 students, staff, and other users connecting with a wide variety of devices. The district’s existing tools were either too expensive to scale or too difficult to customize, creating a challenge for IT operations. OUSD turned to Netreo for network monitoring.

Netreo was implemented to monitor 310 network cabinets, 120 virtual servers, 1,700 wireless access points, and critical services including email, VoIP, web applications, and connectivity across 40 schools and other sites. With Netreo, OUSD gained proactive alerts, root-cause visibility, and layered monitoring with the Orange County Department of Education, improving response to issues and IT productivity. Netreo was deployed in just two weeks and provided a solid, well-supported monitoring foundation for the district’s network operations center.
