Veiligheidsregio Rotterdam Rijnmond alerts 1.2 million citizens instantly with Netpresenter

Veiligheidsregio Rotterdam Rijnmond, a government safety region, faced the challenge of needing to alert as many of its 1.2 million citizens as possible across 19 municipalities as quickly as possible during a crisis. To meet this challenge, they partnered with vendor Netpresenter to implement the RijnmondVeilig communications platform.

The solution from Netpresenter enabled alerts to be sent with the push of a button across a wide range of media, including TV, radio, SMS, email, digital signage, PC pop-ups, and social media. This allowed the emergency services to instantly inform and alert the entire population, as well as law enforcement and the press, during calamities. The system also proved effective for police to communicate urgent messages on a large scale, such as during manhunts for suspects.
