A Netlify Case Study
Spring, the social commerce platform for creators, needed to scale a fast-growing web experience built on a Ruby on Rails monolith that was becoming slow, brittle, and difficult to iterate on as storefronts, checkout, fulfillment, and other domains became tightly intertwined. Using Netlify, Spring set out to modernize its architecture gradually while supporting high traffic and improving the creator storefront experience.
Netlify helped Spring move to a Jamstack and microservices-based approach with adapter APIs, frontend apps hosted on Netlify, and Background Functions for async work. The result was faster site performance, higher conversion rates, lower bounce rates on mobile, and build times cut from about 90 minutes to around 1 minute, while also making it much faster for Spring to ship new features and onboard partners.
