Improving and Extending the Voter Experience: Democracy Works deploys with Netlify

Democracy Works, a nonprofit that builds tools to improve the voting experience, needed a faster, more reliable way to deploy and host its sites as traffic spiked during major election moments. Its small engineering team was spending too much time on custom website deploys and needed a solution that could support staging, previewing URLs, and high-traffic events for products like TurboVote and Ballot Scout. Netlify provided the deployment platform they used to address these challenges.

With Netlify, Democracy Works was able to move TurboVote and other partner sites onto a system with staging environments, deploy previews, local previews, and frontend caching. The migration was smooth, and Netlify helped the team handle large traffic spikes without changing its engineering workflow. As a result, Democracy Works gained confidence in scaling during high-demand periods, reduced pressure on its backend, and could focus more on serving voters and partners.
