Case Study: UW Health modernizes its web experience with Netlify

A Netlify Case Study

How UW Health Serves Dynamic Data on their Jamstack Site with Netlify and Next.js

UW Health, a large healthcare network serving 600,000 patients, needed to modernize a legacy Java-based web architecture that was difficult to update, hard to secure, and slow to deploy. Working with Netlify and Last Rev, the team set out to improve reliability, editorial workflows, and the ability to manage highly relational content while using Contentful and Next.js in a more modern Jamstack approach.

Netlify helped UW Health migrate to a monorepo-based Jamstack setup with multiple deployments, Deploy Previews, redirects, and serverless functions. The new architecture supports more than 30,000 static pages across multiple sites and locales, 15,000 redirects, and 10 serverless functions, with 7-minute build times and 4 build plugins in use. Netlify also enabled incremental migration, stronger collaboration between web and marketing teams, and faster, more confident deployments.
