A Netlify Case Study
Crossroads Church, the fastest-growing church in the U.S., needed to modernize a large, complex web platform that powered many content-heavy sites and communities. Working with Netlify, the team faced the challenge of decoupling a tightly coupled CMS and presentation layer, while also accounting for a legacy architecture, high developer turnover, and the risk of a disruptive big-bang migration.
Netlify helped implement a phased Jamstack migration using Netlify Edge, redirects/proxying, and a headless CMS approach with Contentful. The solution let Crossroads gradually move pages and micro frontends to Netlify without disrupting existing infrastructure, improving site speed, security, developer agility, and scalability while reducing load on legacy systems. The result was a smoother deployment model with better performance, easier onboarding, and less complex cache and release management.
