A NetIQ Case Study
The University of Groningen, founded in 1614 and serving roughly 28,000 students and 5,000 staff, needed to give users secure, cost‑effective access to an expanding set of cloud and campus applications. With more than 70 apps and thousands of new students each year, the university struggled to provision accounts, manage credentials and enforce consistent access policies.
By deploying NetIQ Identity Manager and Access Manager the university automated account provisioning, enabled single sign-on via a new web portal, and provided customizable, persistent dashboards and self‑service capabilities. The solution centralized identity and access control, now handling over one million SSO sessions per month, delivering one‑click access to apps and resources, improving security and accessibility, and paving the way for role‑based self‑service enhancements.
