Ultima Business Solutions, an independent managed services provider since 1990 and one of the UK’s leading IT infrastructure vendors, needed to replace its legacy CA Unicenter service-management platform to extend and improve delivery of managed services for a diverse, growing client base. The challenge was to implement a flexible, scalable system that could support everything from small accounts to multinational customers and meet demanding 24/7 monitoring and reporting requirements.
Working with NetIQ, Ultima deployed NetIQ AppManager to monitor servers, networks, security systems and key applications for more than 120 clients (20–25,000 users), and built co‑sourced, mirrored consoles for clients such as global law firm Withers to provide seamless 24/7 coverage. The result is proactive global alerting, capacity and trend reporting via Analysis Center, a consistent round‑the‑clock user experience, and a scalable, flexible service model enabled by the strategic Ultima–NetIQ partnership.
