A NetIQ Case Study
The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs hospitals in Wakefield, Dewsbury and Pontefract and employs around 7,000 staff serving over half a million people, faced a growing identity and access challenge: up to 100 monthly account-creation requests, manual onboarding that could take two weeks, frequent missed notifications of leavers, and roughly 300 password-reset calls a month that burdened the helpdesk.
Working with Salford Software the Trust deployed Identity Manager and SecureLogin to automate provisioning from ESR staff records, enable online account requests and provide single sign-on for 13 critical applications. The result was instant access for new employees, immediate revocation of leavers’ rights, far fewer helpdesk calls, significantly reduced IT workload, more than 99% positive user feedback and projected wider NHS savings if replicated.
