Swisscard, a joint venture of Credit Suisse and American Express with about 650 employees near Zurich, provides credit‑card services across Visa, MasterCard and American Express brands. The company struggled with manual administration of access rights to roughly 200 applications, lacked consistent enterprise processes, and needed faster, auditable provisioning and deprovisioning to reduce security risk and meet regulatory requirements.

Swisscard implemented NetIQ Identity Manager, Access Manager (SSO) and Sentinel to create a central user repository synchronized with HR data, define about 100 business roles, and automate provisioning workflows with manager/IT approvals. The solution delivers single sign‑on, continuous monitoring and linked audit logs, automates most user management tasks, eliminates orphan accounts on termination, and saved an estimated 20% of IT effort while providing a single, auditable view of users and access rights.
