Softcat, a UK-based provider of software licensing, hardware and IT services with more than 400 employees, launched its managed services business in 2010 and needed a scalable, proactive monitoring platform to identify issues before they impacted customers. The company required a solution that could start small, grow quickly, and give engineers timely visibility into client environments.

Softcat chose NetIQ AppManager for its flexibility and implemented it in about three months, rolling it out internally and then to clients. Today the platform supports 150+ clients and monitors roughly 200 servers and 80 network devices, providing real-time visibility, proactive issue detection, greater agility for capacity planning, and the scalability needed to maintain high levels of customer service.
