Siemens Wind Power’s Power Service Generation Division, a major supplier of renewable energy solutions, was facing rapid global growth that strained its existing monitoring systems. Supporting close to 10,000 turbines (with thousands more planned) exposed limits in scalability, slow performance, heavy manual intervention, and the risk of losing data when communication lines to remote and offshore sites went down.
After a proof-of-concept, Siemens deployed NetIQ’s AppManager, Aegis and NetIQ Operations Center with local partner Bost Consulting and adopted per‑turbine licensing. The solution now covers an estimated 100,000 end-points, delivering far greater scalability, automated deployment and master-data synchronization, remote monitoring that reduces costly site visits, reliable data buffering during outages, and improved customer service and forecasting.
