Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal - Customer Case Study

Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal (SEPE), Spain’s national unemployment benefits agency headquartered in Madrid, needed to modernize access to its Redtrabaj@ portal (launched in 2009 and serving over a million users) to comply with Spanish IT security law requiring secure single sign‑on. SEPE also faced heavy administrative workloads from in‑person benefit registrations and needed a simple, secure access experience for a diverse population of claimants.

After evaluating options, SEPE implemented NetIQ Access Manager, completing integration in nine months. The solution enabled secure online self‑registration, ensured regulatory compliance, reduced staff time spent on interviews, improved transparency and claimant mobility, and is now being rolled out to the department’s intranet.
