The School District of Hartford in Wisconsin, which serves over 1,700 students and employs about 200 staff, upgraded to Microsoft Office 365 and needed to ensure web-based Office 365 services were as secure as internal systems. With a two-person IT team, the district wanted stronger identity management and account synchronization without adding administrative overhead.

The district deployed NetIQ Identity Manager and the Identity Manager Office 365 Driver to integrate NetIQ eDirectory with Office 365, automatically provisioning and synchronizing user accounts. This created a single sign-on experience and centralized access management, significantly reducing IT administrative time, improving security and visibility, and laying the groundwork to extend automated lifecycle management to student accounts.
