Reale Mutua, one of Italy’s leading insurance groups with about 700 agencies and 1,300 employees, struggled to guarantee round‑the‑clock access to critical applications because IT monitoring was fragmented across separate consoles. Without a real‑time, unified view of system health, agencies often reported outages before IT knew about them, causing complaints, slow resolution and an inability to map IT components to the business services they support.
Working with NetIQ partner Hogwart, Reale Mutua implemented NetIQ Operations Center, redesigned its CMDB and built a service catalog to map IT infrastructure to business services and aggregate disparate monitoring into management dashboards. The implementation delivered real‑time visibility, boosted IT credibility, reduced duplicate alerts from 51 to 39, saved time on fixes and maintenance, and gave the company greater control to meet upcoming SLAs and extend service reporting to business‑oriented data.
