New York City Health and Human Services - Customer Case Study

New York City Health and Human Services (HHS‑Connect) supports technology for nine agencies serving about 80,000 people and needed to break down information silos to monitor security events, ensure regulatory compliance, and track complex access policies. Manually reviewing and correlating logs was impractical and would have required significant staff, so the agency sought an automated, centralized monitoring solution.

Working with Accenture, HHS‑Connect implemented NetIQ Sentinel and Sentinel Log Manager to collect, correlate and analyze logs in real time across heterogeneous systems. The solution centralized security event detection, improved reporting and audit readiness, sped identification of anomalies and policy violations, reduced workload (avoiding roughly 20 additional staff), and paid for itself while strengthening data safeguards.
