A NetIQ Case Study
National Taiwan Normal University, a leading Taiwanese university with about 15,000 students and 4,000 faculty and staff, faced a fragmented IT environment where multiple systems had separate user management. This created a heavy administrative burden from manual account provisioning, frequent password resets and lockouts, delayed access for users, and difficulty enforcing consistent access controls and security.
NTNU implemented NetIQ eDirectory and Identity Manager, completing migration and customization in six to ten months to provide centralized account management, automated provisioning, single sign-on and password self-service. The rollout cut IT workload, sped up user onboarding, improved security and scalability, increased user satisfaction and productivity across the university, and generated hardware and software cost savings.
