Major Telecommunications Provider - Customer Case Study

Major Telecommunications Provider, a multinational telecommunications equipment provider, was struggling with a fragmented identity and access management environment made up of multiple standalone systems. This made it hard to manage overlaps across internal staff, external contractors, customers, and suppliers. The company needed a single platform to improve provisioning and deprovisioning, reduce complexity, and strengthen security, and turned to NetIQ Identity Manager.

NetIQ, working with implementation partner Atos, deployed Identity Manager as a centralized identity management solution integrated with SAP HRM, Microsoft Active Directory, and other target systems. The rollout automated role-based provisioning and extended to external users via sales, supplier, and customer portals. The result is a more streamlined, enterprise-wide platform expected to reduce IT administration costs and effort, accelerate user provisioning, improve productivity, eliminate duplicate identities, and scale to manage up to 100,000 external users.
