A NetIQ Case Study
Interroll, a Swiss manufacturer of conveyor and automation products with over 1,300 employees in 30+ countries, faced growing complexity in user management as it expanded. A six-person IT team had to maintain a heterogeneous landscape—Open Enterprise Server, SUSE Linux, Windows Server, ZENworks, cloud-based Microsoft BPOS and Citrix—and anticipated SAP HR rollout, making manual account creation, relocation and deactivation time-consuming and error-prone. The company needed a cloud-ready solution to automate processes, improve security and support its distributed workforce.
Interroll implemented Identity Manager with implementation and support from partner H4T, integrating it with Open Enterprise Server, ZENworks, BPOS, Citrix and (planned) SAP, and adding role-based provisioning and cloud migration. The result: new-user setup time fell from up to a week to under three hours, office relocations that once took hours now take a few clicks, and instant deactivation improved security—simplifying administration, boosting service for users and aligning with Interroll’s cloud strategy.
