A NetIQ Case Study
Highland Community College, a comprehensive U.S. community college, faced a fragmented and support-intensive online environment where students juggled multiple usernames and passwords across systems like GroupWise, Moodle and NetStorage. Manual, error-prone provisioning caused duplicate accounts and semester-start delays, increasing help-desk calls and frustrating students and staff.
Paragon Development Systems implemented Access Manager for web single sign‑on and Identity Manager to synchronize and automate provisioning from SunGard Banner to GroupWise and other applications. The changes gave students a single login, cut password-management support issues by half, enabled targeted content delivery, automated creation of required accounts (speeding registration and online payments), strengthened security via a single admin console, and freed IT staff to focus on student services.
