A NetIQ Case Study
Gothaer Systems, the IT arm of the Gothaer group in Germany, needed to ensure 24/7 availability for a new e‑business platform across a heterogeneous landscape of nearly 750 servers running Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, WebSphere and custom apps on Windows, Linux and UNIX. Their existing tools only reported outages without showing service dependencies, slowing diagnosis and resolution.
After a proof of concept, they implemented NetIQ Operations Center’s Business Service Management to map dependencies and provide centralized, near‑real‑time monitoring; NetIQ and the in‑house team onboarded more than 70% of systems within a year. The result was faster, more accurate problem diagnosis, reduced downtime and improved availability and customer service for the new e‑business platform.
