Fishburns Solicitors, a UK professional indemnity law firm, needed to speed up and improve the reliability of its disaster recovery after relying on slow, tape-based restores that were labor-intensive and hard to test. The firm wanted a low‑cost solution that would deliver rapid restores, allow regular test runs, and demonstrate strong contingency planning to clients.

Working with long‑term IT partner TET, Fishburns deployed a PlateSpin Forge appliance from Micro Focus as an all‑in‑one DR site, protecting key systems (Exchange, document management and accounts) across nine physical servers. The appliance lets workloads be powered on quickly in a self‑contained recovery environment and tested without disrupting production; as a result Fishburns cut estimated recovery to normal operations from 10 days to 36 hours, can recover servers within hours, maintain near‑uninterrupted client service, and significantly reduced administrative effort and risk.
