Craig Group Ltd., a Scotland‑based global shipping and energy services company with over 1,000 employees, needed a practical disaster recovery solution for its mixed estate of physical and virtual Microsoft Windows servers. After a near‑miss winter flood highlighted the limits of overnight backups, the company sought a faster, easy‑to‑test way to keep its 24/7, internationally accessed systems available.

Partnering with Evision, Craig Group trialed and implemented Micro Focus PlateSpin Forge to replicate 20 servers and take hourly snapshots of file servers, ERP, vessel management, SQL and Exchange systems. The appliance enables simple monthly DR tests and rapid failover; as a result, recovery time objectives fell from days to a few hours and recovery point objectives to about one hour, providing auditable, global continuity for users.
