A NetIQ Case Study
China Development Industrial Bank, Taiwan’s largest direct investment institution serving more than 400 corporate clients, needed a flexible, standardized disaster recovery and backup solution for its Microsoft Windows servers. Its previous processes varied by system, required extensive manual work and standby hardware, and could take more than a day to restore—so the bank sought a single solution compatible with both physical and VMware environments to reduce risk and administrative overhead.
The bank deployed 36 licenses of PlateSpin Protect from Micro Focus to create scheduled virtual replicas of business‑critical systems while they remained in operation. The automated solution enabled failover in about 15 minutes, met the bank’s 20‑minute RTO, reduced day‑to‑day administration and human error, and cut disaster recovery hardware needs to one physical server per 15 replicas, delivering faster, simpler, and more cost‑effective protection.
