Compagnia Generale Trattori (CGT), the Caterpillar dealer with 26 branches in north and central Italy and about 950 employees, struggled to manage user identities and access across a heterogeneous environment (SAP, Lotus Domino, IBM i, Windows). Manual, time-consuming profile updates and inconsistent user data across dozens of systems caused delays, frustrated the business and created security risks.
CGT implemented NetIQ Identity Manager and NetIQ Access Manager with help from Unisys Italia, Aglea and Netstudio to centralize identity management, automate provisioning and extend secure web authentication. The solution synchronized user information across systems, cut new‑user setup to minutes, improved IT responsiveness and increased security and transparency; CGT is also planning NetIQ SecureLogin for single sign‑on.
