A NetIQ Case Study
Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, which serves nearly 3,000 students, needed to simplify and secure account management across multiple systems and departments so students and staff could get timely access to teaching materials and other resources. The university also sought stronger access controls and automated handling of former students’ accounts to meet security and compliance requirements.
Working with NetIQ partner araneaNET, the university deployed NetIQ Identity Manager in a high‑availability configuration, integrating Moodle, NetIQ eDirectory, Microsoft AD, OpenLDAP, Apple Open Directory, EMC storage and other systems, plus a self‑service portal and NetIQ Self Service Password Reset and Sentinel Log Manager for centralized logging. The implementation centralized and standardized user management, automated workflows to reduce errors and speed provisioning, cut helpdesk workload, and improved security and compliance across the student lifecycle.
