Bouwend Nederland, the Dutch trade association for construction companies, needed a way for policy staff to access sensitive member data and SharePoint-based CRM/document management (WindexCC) from smartphones, tablets and laptops while visiting members—without opening the network to risk. Ensuring information security and supporting both Microsoft Office 2010 and 2013 for editing on the road were key challenges.

Working with RealOpen IT, Bouwend Nederland deployed NetIQ Access Manager to provide a secure browser-based portal with two-factor authentication (password plus Google Authenticator token). The solution integrated WindexCC and both Office versions (despite protocol differences), required no extra hardware, and stayed on a fixed-price budget. The result: 24/7 secure access for mobile staff, easier document viewing and editing, higher productivity, reduced travel time and costs, and confidence in storing confidential information—now being extended to other SharePoint resources.
