Atos - Customer Case Study

Atos Origin, the IOC’s worldwide IT partner, was responsible for designing, building and operating the IT infrastructure for the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. With more than 3,000 servers, workstations, network devices and applications supporting critical services (results processing, broadcaster feeds, accreditations, logistics and public sites), the team needed comprehensive, real-time security monitoring and the ability to detect and act on incidents within seconds during the two-week event.

Atos implemented NetIQ Sentinel as its SIEM, integrated with a real-time risk-audit solution, to aggregate and correlate data from thousands of systems and prioritize risk-based events. Sentinel reduced more than 90 million raw security events to about 3 million for review, enabled early detection and rapid resolution of up to 35 serious incidents a day, and helped ensure the Games’ IT services ran smoothly and securely with no operational impact.
