2010 Singapore Youth Olympic Games - Customer Case Study

Atos Origin, the worldwide IT partner for the Olympic Games, was responsible for designing and operating the IT infrastructure for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. Facing a time-critical security challenge across thousands of systems and devices that supported results processing, broadcaster feeds, accreditations and public sites, the team needed comprehensive, real-time monitoring to detect and respond to breaches quickly during the two-week event.

Atos Origin implemented Sentinel as the core SIEM, integrating heterogeneous platforms and custom feeds to correlate and prioritize events by business risk. Sentinel reduced more than 90 million raw security events to about 3 million prioritized items for review, enabled early detection and fast resolution of up to 35 serious incidents per day, saved substantial incident-response time, and ensured systems ran smoothly and securely throughout the Games.
