National University System rebuilds scalable online platform with NetGuru to support 1-to-many expansion

National University System, a US-based nonprofit, faced the challenge of an online learning platform that could not scale to support its expansion goals beyond its initial single university affiliate. They partnered with Netguru to rebuild their existing platform to support new partners and improve the online educational experience, which was still perceived as inferior to in-person learning.

Netguru rebuilt the platform using Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL for the back end and Backbone and jQuery for the front end, deploying it on Heroku and AWS servers. The solution provided a scalable, functional platform that significantly increased student engagement and gave instructors advanced tools to track progress and interact with students. This allowed National University System to successfully expand its partnerships with new universities and businesses.
