Ploum Initiates Move To the Cloud With Netdocuments

Ploum, a Rotterdam-based law firm, needed a flexible, secure cloud document management system to support changing workstyles and reduce on-premises overhead. After evaluating options, Ploum chose NetDocuments (a cloud, single-instance DMS) to replace its legacy setup, aiming for better usability, scalability and reduced server administration across 135 users (including 75 fee earners).

NetDocuments was rolled out in two phases and paired with training and floor-walking support; the platform immediately proved its value during a high-profile bankruptcy matter by handling large volumes of shared data and giving Ploum an edge over other firms. As a result, Ploum — a NetDocuments customer since 2014 — now operates more flexibly in the cloud (moving to Office 365 and mobile devices), plans to adopt ndMail and ndThread, and reports lower capital investment, reduced maintenance burden and firm-wide adoption.
